At this afternoon's workshop, Mr. C and I gave a presentation on "Ralph Nader".
This was a result of deepening the "Civil Rights Movement" through VTRs and group discussions at last week's workshop, and as a finishing touch, we will be giving a presentation on the theme of civil activities or civil activists, in team formation by instructors. I have also decided to team up with a Taiwanese man, Mr. C.
Later, when Mr. C and I discussed the subject of the presentation, Mr. C said he couldn't come up with a concrete idea, so I suggested "Ralph Nader."
Ralph Nader is the person I talked about in a recent group discussion on civic activists, but since all my classmates didn't know Ralph Nader, I briefly explained about Ralph Nader.
From that point of view, I convinced Mr. C that it makes sense to pick up a person that our classmates don't know in the presentation.
And, in our presentation on the theme of "Ralph Nader" that we gave today, there were conspicuous parts that could not be expressed in our words, such as using the esoteric expressions in the collected materials as they are. The instructor appreciated our positive attitude towards picking up people that our classmates didn't know.
By the way, other teams covered "Martin Luther King," "Gandhi," "Sun Yat-sen," "Maria Teresa," and "American Opposition to the Gun Society."

プレゼンテーションテーマは「ラルフ・ネーダー」

今日の午後のワークショップでMr.Cと私は「ラルフ・ネーダー」のプレゼンテーションを行った。
これは先週のワークショップで「公民権運動」についてＶＴＲやグループディスカッションを通して深めた結果、その仕上げとして、私達は市民活動または市民活動家をテーマにプレゼンテーションを行うことになり、インストラクターによるチーム編成において、私は台湾人男性Mr.Cと組むことも決まった。
その後に、Mr.Cと私がプレゼンテーションのテーマについて話し合ったとき、Mr.Cが具体的な案が思い浮かばないと言ったので、私は「ラルフ・ネーダー」を提案した。
ラルフ･ネーダーについては、先日の市民活動家をテーマにしたグループ討議で、私が話題にした人物であるが、クラスメート全員がラルフ・ネーダーを知らなかったので、私がラルフ・ネーダーについて簡単に説明した。
そういう経緯地から、私は、私達のクラスメートが知らない人物をプレゼンテーションで採り上げるのは意義があると、Mr.Cを説得した。
そして、今日行った私達の「ラルフ・ネーダー」をテーマにしたプレゼンテーションは、収集した資料の中の難解な表現をそのまま使うなど、私達の言葉で表現仕切れない箇所が目立ったにも拘わらず、インストラクターからは、クラスメートが知らない人物を敢えて取り上げた私達の積極的な姿勢を評価してもらえた。
因みに、他のチームは、「マーチン･ルーサー･キング」、「ガンジー」、「孫文」、「マリア･テレサ」、「アメリカの銃社会反対運動」を取り上げていた。
