For my friend E and I, visiting the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston was a top priority during this short stay in Boston.
So, I prepared a $ 50 travel check (hereinafter referred to as T / C) that was signed separately from the booklet in advance so as not to take time at the admission fee payment window, but contrary to my wishes. I was refused to pay with T / C, so I paid in cash and forgot about the $ 50 T / C in my wallet.
After all, it's a vast museum that would take about two days to appreciate all the masterpieces, and I like Van Gogh, Cezanne, Luau, Monet, Velasquez, Ancient Egyptian art, Oriental art and Japanese art. I spent a lot of time watching each one, so I couldn't see many works, but my friends and I left the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston with great satisfaction.
The next day, after doing some shopping at Copley Place's branded shops, we stroll along Newbury Street, which is lined with sophisticated boutiques, cafes, restaurants, bookstores, galleries, and more. Enjoyed white wine and Asian food at the restaurant.
And when I returned to the hotel and was preparing to return home the next day, I realized for the first time that the $ 50 T / C I had in my wallet was gone.
友人Ｅと私にとって、今回の短いボストン滞在の中で、ボストン美術館に足を運ぶことは最優先事項だった。
そこで私は、入館料支払窓口で手間取らないように、前もって冊子から切り離してサインした５０ドルの旅行小切手（今後はＴ/Ｃと表記）を準備して出かけたのだが、意に反してＴ/Ｃでの支払いを拒否されたので現金で支払い、財布に収めた５０ドルＴ/Ｃの事はすっかり忘れていた。
何しろ傑作揃いの全展示品を鑑賞するには２日位は費やしそうな広大な美術館で、私は好きなゴッホ、セザンヌ、ルオー、モネ、ベラスケス、古代エジプト美術、東洋美術・日本美術の作品の一つ一つに時間をかけて鑑賞したので、多数の作品を目にすることは叶わなかったが、友人と私は大いに満足してボストン美術館を後にした。
その翌日、私達はコプリー・プレイスのブランド・ショップで幾つか買い物をした後で、洗練されたブティック、カフェ、レストラン、書店、ギャラリー等が軒を並べるニューベリー通りを散策し、シックな店構えのレストランで白ワインとアジア料理を楽しんだ。
そして、ホテルに戻って翌日の帰国準備をしている時に、私は財布に入れていたはずの５０ドルのＴ/Ｃが無くなっている事
