There are students in the class who want their surroundings to recognize themselves as excellent.
And Mr. X, an EU male college student I teamed up with in today's workshop presentation, is typical.
He speaks fast-spoken English with a strong intonation, always speaks out with a confident attitude, and manages group discussions and team work as he wishes.
This time, Mr. X and my team were supposed to give a presentation based on the knowledge gained from the extracurricular activity of Boston's "Kennedy Books and Museums" a few days ago.
Then, Mr. X and I were assigned to the "Former Attorney General Robert Kennedy" corner, where the two of us would closely observe the corner together, create a scenario for the presentation, and decide on the division of work.
By the way, Mr. X and I have separate morning Integrated Classes, but we are the same in the afternoon workshop.
Through my experience in the workshops so far, I can clearly see that Mr. X judges that "kazu lacks thinking ability" because I cannot react quickly in English.
On the other hand, I can't hear Mr. X's tongue twister English, which has a strong habit.
When this happens, I have no choice but to be prepared to meet my worst teammate.

クラスには、自らを優秀だと周囲に認めさせたい受講生がいる。
そして、今日のワークショップのプレゼンテーションで私がチームを組んだＥＵ圏の男子大学生、Mr.Ｘは典型だ。
彼は癖の強いイントネーションの早口英語で、自信満々の態度でいつもしゃり出て、自自分のやりたいようにグループディスカッションやチーム作業を仕切る。
今回は、数日前の課外活動のボストンの「ケネディ図書・博物館」見学で得た知識を元に、Mr.Ｘと私のチームでプレゼンテーションをすることになっていた。
そして、Mr.Ｘと私に割り当てられたのは、「ロバートケネディ元司法長官」のコーナーで、２人で一緒にコーナーをジックリ観察し、プレゼンテーションのシナリオや作業分担を決める事だった。
ところで、Mr.Ｘと私は午前のＩｎｔｅｇｒａｔｅｄＣｌａｓｓは別々だが、午後のワークショップでは一緒である。
私はこれまでのワークショップでの経験を通して、Mr.Ｘが、私が英語で素早く反応できない事から「kazuには思考力が欠けている」と判断しているのがはっきり分かる。
他方で、私自身はMr.Ｘの癖の強いイントネーションの早口英語が全く聞きとれない。
こうなったら、私は最悪のチームメートに巡りあったと覚悟を決めるしかない。
