60-year-old Harvard Summer School Diary in Google Translate (37) (Episode) Tears, tears Three-Minute Essay

One morning in an integrated class, the instructor imposed a "Three-Minute Essay" on the students.

(Episode)涙、涙の Three-Minute Essay

 

ある日の午前のインテグレーテッド・クラスで、インストラクターから受講生に「Three-Minute Essay」が課せられた。

「Three-Minute Essay」とは、受講生がレクチャー後に「理解した事」「理解出来なかった事」「もっと知りたかった事」を規定の用紙に記入する。

 

初めてThree-Minute Essayを課せられたとき、他の受講生は次々に提出して教室を後にして、残ったのは私一人になった。

私のフォーマット用紙は自分の名前以外は白紙、私はそれを見ている内に涙が次から次へと流れてきた。

 

そんな私を心配して慰めてくれたMインストラクターに、

私は、「私が長い間英文作成とは無縁で過ごしてきたこと、そんな私に、今学んだ事について直ぐ書けと指示されても、語彙・スペル・文法も頭に浮かばなかった」と、訴えている間に私の気持は楽になった。

 

教室の片隅で、私を待っていた、台湾人男性Mr.Cとタイ人女子大生のMissLが、私の突然の涙にびっくりしていた。

彼らと私はこの後、カフェテリアでプレゼンテーション準備の打ち合せをする予定だった。
