Gdansk, one of the most beautiful cities in Poland, is a city with a millennial history and a port city facing the Baltic Sea. Since joining the Hanseatic League in the 14th century, trade between the Hanseatic League and within Poland It reached its peak in the 15th and 17th centuries with enormous profits from trade.
In the old town of Gdansk with such a background, you can see buildings of various styles such as Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque here and there, but here, the architectural style town that especially retains the remnants of the Hanseatic League. I decided to remember those days.

ポーランドで最も美しい町に数えられるグダンスクは千年の歴史を持つ都市であり、かつ、バルト海に面した港湾都市で、14世紀にハンザ同盟に加盟してからはハンザ同盟間の貿易とポーランド国内の貿易によって莫大な利益を得て１５～１７世紀に最盛期を迎えた。
このような背景を持つグダンスクの旧市街には、ゴシック、ルネッサンス、バロックといった各時代を代表する様式の建物があちこちに見ることが出来るが、ここでは、特にハンザ同盟の面影を残す建築様式の街から当時を偲ぶことにした。
それと共に、じっくり写真を眺めている内にゴミ箱と清潔な道路に注目した事を付け加えておきたい。
ところで、ハンザ同盟とは、中世後期に北海とバルト海周辺のドイツ系都市による経済同盟のことで、「ハンザ」は、もともと「商人仲間」を意味し、14世紀ごろの最盛期には、現在のドイツをはじめ、ポーランドやスウェーデン、エストニアなど広範囲にわたる加盟都市数200を誇る一大連合となり、北部ヨーロッパの経済圏を牛耳るほどの力をもっていたとされています。
