When we returned to the hotel from the Vienna State Opera and shared our thoughts, we found that only the taxi we took was paid twice as much.
In other words, we were struck by a female taxi driver.
Immediately after we got on, the undressed female driver with long hair struck her tongue and struck the steering wheel, showing an overly frustrated attitude.
We saw her and sympathized with her that it would be hard to drive on a busy street at dusk.
Indeed, the taxi driver was observing us astutely.

私たちが乗った直後から、長い髪を垂らした化粧気のないその女性ドライバーは、舌打ちしたり、ハンドルを叩いたりして、過剰にイライラした態度を見せていた。
私たちはそんな彼女を見て、夕暮れ時の混雑している通りを運転するのは大変なのだと彼女に同情していたのだが。
なるほど、そのタクシードライバーは抜け目なく私たちを観察していたのだ。
３台のタクシーに分乗したメンバーを分析すると、
１台目には中年の母娘と私、２台目にはヨーロッパ駐在経験のある定年退職した夫妻を含み、３台目には元ボン公使館スタッフの夫妻を含む。
つまり私たちのグループはタクシードライバーにとって騙しやすい異国から来た観光客だったのだ。
これは帰国後同僚から聞いた話だが、国連機関の多いウィーンには三種類の価格体系があると。
一つは外交官価格、二つ目は通常価格、そして三つ目に観光客価格。
当然、一番高くふっかけられるのは観光客価格であろう。
