Diary in Google Translate Retrospect 1983 Singapore (1)

Anyway the sightseeing spot in Singapore was Orchard Road, and me and a friend went out for a walk.

Certainly the wide avenue is clean and comfortable walking. However, it was too artificial and inconceivable that I could not find a single mosquito among the trees and green groves.

By the way, we heard rumors that admission is being done from the shop side as Japanese tourists rush into the brand shop inside the Hilton hotel facing this Orchard Road, buying it from products with big brand logos.

In those days in Japan, expensive import duties were imposed on overseas brand items, so overseas travel aimed at brand shops among women was a big fashion.

However, for me who was not at all interested in overseas brand products, Singapore, where attractive theaters, live houses, museums were not found, was quite boring.

Well, since the suction power as a tax avoidance area is high, it might be attractive to those who want to make money.
